‘Fact or Fiction’ Dance 2013

This year’s key theme was ‘Fact or Fiction.. be inspired by the world of books’. Stretching over four nights at the Victoria Hall, it involved 1,500 performers from the age of 3 to 20 from 65 Stoke-on-Trent infant, primary, special, high schools and newly formed academies and City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College. Over four nights an audience of over 2,500 including proud parents, grandparents, teachers, head teachers, principals and VIP’s were wowed by the performers.
Stoke SSP Dance 2013 is a classic example of the willingness of schools, academies and colleges working together in a true spirit of partnership and collaboration and demonstrates how the School Sport Partnership network is alive and well in the City of Stoke-on-Trent.
Despite the uncertain economic times and re-structuring taking place in our City, schools are very keen to maximise the chances of our young people to engage in fun healthy lifelong pursuits.
Many of the performances on show were choreographed by Dance leaders from the local High schools, Academies and Stoke Sixth Form College and this reflects the range of high quality leadership and volunteering that exists across Stoke. Leaders visited Primary schools to run after school Dance club rehearsals and prepare the children to perform on the night.
